What's New at ACMPSA?

Playing days for 2010.

Our (revised yet again) playing days in 2010 will be held at Pembroke School, on Sunday 25th April, Sunday 1st August, and Sunday 17th October.
We are introducing a new concept for our second session in our playing days in 2010. Members will meet over coffee at 11:30, and decide on the spot, what music to play and with whom.  This will help members experience different music, and allow them to play with new people, and take part in various ensembles.
Streaming videos of our playing days have now replaced the previous downloadable video files, which took far too long to load. People were experiencing difficulty in viewing the footages. The streamed videos should now start playing within a few seconds of opening the web page.
Our 3rd Playing Day in 2009 was successfully held on Sunday 25th October at Pembroke School.   There were 14 members playing in 8 ensembles.  These included a string quintet, trios and many duets.

Our 2nd playing day for 2009, held on Sunday 26th July was a great sucess. There were six ensembles in each of the first and second sessions, and 4 in the 3rd session. A total of 20 people attended, and most participated in a most enoyable lunch, where we were able to meet each other socially.

In the second session, one group played the Mozart string quintet in C major. A video clip of part of the 4th movement, and some other photos can be viewed from this page.
In the afternoon session, another group of six played Schubert's Octet in F. How? You may ask! Unfortunately, they had neither a cellist nor a double bass player. You can see a brief cine clip of part of the 5th movement from this page.
